Freedom Flight
Digital Single: $1.50
1 Track. 2 minutes and 55 seconds.

“Freedom Flight” is the main theme from my Emmy Award winning score to the film “Saving Pelican #895″. In the film, the piece underscores long fluid shots of several brown pelicans sailing over the Gulf of Mexico, working with the picture to create a stunning and evocative audio-visual sequence. Be sure to check out more music from this film in the “Scoring” section of my website.

Seed
Digital Album: $10.00
18 Tracks. 29 minutes.

This is one of my favorite scores and favorite films. Unfortunately, it may be the least seen film I’ve ever worked on. The director, Bobby Sheehan, gave me a lot of room on this project. Once, after we reviewed a bunch of cues, he called me 5 minutes after leaving and said he had only 1 note for me – “more weird shit”. Love that! After finishing the score I expanded some of the cues to create this album.

Walt Whitman
Digital Album: $12.00
Physical CD: $15.00
21 Tracks. 45 minutes.

The first film I scored for Mark Zwonitzer was his poetic homage to the life and work of America’s first great poet, Walt Whitman. This American Experience film is original and strong in its convictions and contrarian ways – analogous to Whitman himself. The music also takes a very direct approach, at times soft and singular, and then strong, large and foreboding.

30 x 30
Digital Album: $12.00
Physical CD: $15.00
17 Tracks. 37 minutes.

This is the 3rd feature length documentary I scored. Produced by Albert Maysles and directed by Susan Froemke, Concert of Wills is a tour de force of what it took to get the Getty Center built. The challenge was making a film, and a score, about a building. The score was singled out by the Hollywood Reporter as “superior”. The CD also includes a video excerpt from the film.

Winslow Homer: American Spirit
Digital Album: $12.00
Physical CD: $15.00
20 Tracks. 47 minutes.

Director Steve Ross heard a score I did to another film and called me cold to see if I would work with him on Winslow Homer. Steve spent about 4 years making this 2 hour film which is a comprehensive look at the life and work of the great American artist, Winslow Homer. The score is not what I would consider a typical Joel Goodman score, but I’m proud of the music and the film.

Alfred Hitchcock – Music From His Films
Physical CD: $15.00
23 Tracks. 54 minutes.

After scoring Concert of Wills (30×30 soundtrack) I started a record label called Museum Music. Our first client was the Museum of Modern Art in NYC (MoMA). The 2nd album I produced for them was a compilation of music from films by Alfred Hitchcock. This album includes recordings that span his entire career, as well as an interview with his greatest musical collaborator, Bernard Herrmann.
